Faction Perms

/f access and /f perm allows Co-Leaders and Leaders to grant another faction or player, provided they are not enemy'd, customized access to specific claims/chunks owned by their faction. A player's permissions in a claim/chunk can NOT be altered or amended with /f perm until accessed. You must FIRST grant access through /f access. A helpful reminder for you is available through the /f access menu by simply hovering over the book at the top.

The /f access GUI is the perfect tool for Co-Leaders and Leaders to see who has access to any claims owned by their faction. They can easily revoke access to a player or faction by simply right clicking the faction pane or player head.

How to grant access to claims to another faction or player?

If you wish to allow a faction or player access to claim/chunks owned by your faction you will have to execute a command in game giving them access.

/f access f <faction name> yes
Will grant the faction you entered access to that specific chunk
/f access p <player IGN> yes
Will grant the player you entered access to that specific chunk
/f access f <faction name> all
Will grant access to the faction you entered to ALL CURRENT faction claims
/f access p <player IGN> all
Will grant access to the player you entered to ALL CURRENT faction claims

How to revoke or remove access to claim I previously granted to a faction or player?

There are two ways to remove access from a faction or player, a command in game, or through the /f access GUI.

In the /f access GUI players are able to easily revoke all access from a player or faction simply by right-clicking the player head under the View Player submenu or by right-clicking the faction pane under the View Faction submenu.

Alternatively player's can execute the following commands in-game:

/f access f <faction name> no
Removes granted access to the faction named to the specific chunk you are standing in
/f access p <player IGN> no
Removes granted access ot the player name to the specific chunk you are standing in
/f access f <faction name> none
Removes all access granted to that faction in ANY claim owned by your faction
/f access p <player IGN> none
Removes all access granted to that player in ANY claim owned by your faction

IMPORTANT: It is important to note that different access will have different weight. If you grant access to a faction, and then further grant access to a player in that faction specifically, the player's access will outweigh their faction's access. This means that if you wish to remove access from all members of a faction, including the player you gave special access to, you will have to make sure you remove the player's access from the View Player sub menu as well!

/f perm

Fperm.gif

The /f perm command allows Co-Leaders and Leaders to provide a set of permissions to a faction or player limiting or granting their block interaction in accessed chunks/claims. To amend a faction or player's permissions a faction Leader or Co-Leader must first grant access (instructions above).

Once access has been granted to a faction or player their information will appear in the /f perm menu in both the Default Permissions sub menu and, if granted access to the specific chunk, Current Chunk Permissions sub menu.

The /f perm block menus provides a list of "high risk" blocks that Leaders and Co-Leads can toggle access to.

What are Default Permissions?

When a player or faction is granted access to ANY claims Leaders and Co-Leads will be able to set up the default permissions for that faction or player. This means that any claims they have access to will, unless otherwise specified, follow these permission rules. These will be the default setting for that faction or player.

IMPORTANT: Remember that if you grant access to a faction and a player from within that faction the player's specified default permissions will have a higher priority than the faction default permissions.

What are Current Chunk Permissions?

Current Chunk Permissions apply ONLY to the CURRENT CHUNK you are physically standing in. These permissions will have a higher priority than default permissions. This means that you can set safe default permissions that grant very limited access, however, in a particular chunk grant access to certain things you would not want that faction or player to access in other areas.

IMPORTANT: Remember that if you grant access to a faction and a player from within that faction the player's specified default permissions will have a higher priority than the faction default permissions.

/f access and /f perm are Weighted Systems

Weighted.png

This means that each way to grant access has a different weight or priority:

  • Granting access to a faction to chunks will allow you to set default permissions for all faction members in the accessed faction
  • Granting access to a player to all chunks will allow you to set default permissions for that player that will supersede or "trump" their faction's default permissions
  • Granting access to a faction to a specific chunk will allow you to set specific permissions over and above their global permissions for that chunk only
  • Granting access to a player to a specific chunk will allow you to set specific permissions over and above their faction permissions, their default permissions, and the like for that specific chunk.

This means that Co-Leaders and Leaders are able to provide different permissions to specific chunks without placing their base in a position of vulnerability.

Perms Walkthrough

To add or limit perms/player interaction for your claims or a specific chunk a player or faction must first be given access.

Accessing a Faction to ALL Claims

  • /f access f <faction name> all - grants a default permission group to all CURRENT owned chunks but NOT chunks claimed AFTER access was granted.

IMPORTANT: Recruits within an accessed faction will still NOT be able to make any changes unless specific permissions for that player have been granted (see below)

CosmicPvP // f Accessing a faction to ALL current chunks

  • IF you wish to add recently claimed chunks to a faction's access you will have to remove their access and reaccess the faction.

CosmicPvP // f Accessing a faction to recent chunks

  • Access can be granted to all faction relationships except enemies. If you enemy a faction they will lose all permissions and access to all chunks.

CosmicPvP // f Access and Faction Relationships

Accessing a Faction to Specific Claims

  • You can access a whole faction to specific chunks rather than all chunks by standing in the chunk you wish to access them and running the following command:
    • /f access f <Faction Name> yes
    • The faction that is accessed to this chunk will NOT have access to other chunks.

CosmicPvP // Accessing a faction to a specific chunk

Accessing a Player to ALL Claims

  • /f access p <IGN> all
    • Grants a default permission group to all CURRENT owned chunks but NOT chunks claimed AFTER access was granted.
    • This will not grant access to that player's faction, ONLY the player will have access

CosmicPvP // Accessing a Player to all current claims

  • IF you wish to add recently claimed chunks to a player's access you will have to remove their access and re-access the player.

Accessing Players and Factions to Specific Chunks ONLY

  • Players can grant access to a specific chunk and are NOT required to grant access to ALL chunks.
    • /f access f <faction name> yes
      • Grants access and default permissions to the faction specified in the chunk you are standing in
    • /f access p <player name> yes
      • Grants access and default permissions to the player specified in the chunk you are standing in

CosmicPvP // Granting access to specific chunks

Reviewing who has access and where

  • Faction Leaders and CoLeaders are able to review who has access to their claims and a summary of which claims they have access to by running:
    • /f access

CosmicPvP // Reviewing who has Access through /f access

Removing access through the /f access GUI

  • Players can remove access from a specific player or a faction through the /f access GUI by running /f access and right-clicking the faction or player shown.

CosmicPvP // Removing access through the /f access GUI

  • Removing access from a faction will NOT remove player specific access that was granted.

CosmicPvP // Removing access for a faction does not remove player specific access that was granted

/f perms

/f perm allows you to customize the type of access a faction or a player within your claims.

  • Once access is granted to a faction or player a default permission group will be created.
    • If a player or faction has been granted access, their default permissions will automatically be granted to ANY claims they are given access from that point forward.
    • Leaders and CoLeaders can change the permissions for any chunk through the Chunk Specific Permissions section in the /f perm GUI

CosmicPvP // Understanding Default Permissions

  • If the faction or player is enemied while they have access to they will LOSE all permissions and access granted

CosmicPvP // Reviewing default permissions in /f perm

  • The default permission group are the permissions that are automatically granted when a faction or player is given access through the /f access command.
    • Access is NOT automatically granted when you claim regardless of whether you have granted a faction or player access to all. Default permissions are only granted to current claims, not new claims. See above.

CosmicPvP // Default permissions only apply to current claims, not new claims

  • Players can grant access to specific players within a faction which will override the default faction permissions.
    • When a player is granted specific permissions, regardless of their rank in their faction or whether their faction is granted access, their player-specific permissions will override the faction specific permissions granted.

CosmicPvP // Player Specific Permissions vs Faction Specific Permissions

  • Players can grant permissions based on default or they can grant different permissions for specific chunks. The Chunk Specific Permissions will override the default permissions granted to a faction.

CosmicPvP // Chunk Specific Permissions vs Default Permissions

  • If a faction is granted chunk-specific permissions those permissions will override a player's default permissions unless the player's permissions for that chunk are specifically set for that chunk.

CosmicPvP // Chunk Specific Permissions

  • Permissions are easily toggled through the /f perm GUI and are updated in real time. This works on Default Permissions as well as Chunk Specific Permissions

CosmicPvP // Toggling Permissions

  • If you are removing access from a player or a faction you do NOT have to stand in each chunk just simply right click the faction or player in the /f access GUI or run the following command/s to remove all access from a player or faction:
    • /f access f <faction name> none
    • /f access p <player name> none

Keep your base safe

  • CoLeaders and Leaders should remember that they are able to adjust and change permissions for their faction members. Permissions like TNT, Creeper Eggs, and Obsidian as well as all the others are easily togglable.
